Northampton Jazz Workshop features Kris Allen on alto sax Tuesday, February 20th, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam until 10:30 PM at the The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton.

Hi All,
Our guest on 2/20 will be the wonderful composer and alto saxophonist Kris Allen. Kris is based in Hartford and is the head of the jazz music program at Williams College. We will be playing a mix of some jazz standards and Kris' originals and as a special treat, Kris always brings some of his very talented students to participate in the jam session. Also, I wanted to let you know about an upcoming rent party organized by Vermont guitarist Draa Hobbs to help out our dear friend and treasured member of our musical community, drummer Claire Arenius. Claire is still struggling financially with the loss of her partner and can use more help getting over the hump. The event will be held at the Vermont Jazz Center on Sunday March 4th at 3PM. Lots of great music provided by Claire and many of her collaborators and of course that wonderful Steinway piano.
