Northampton Jazz Workshop features guitarist John Stowell Tuesday, December 19th, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam until 10:30 PM at the The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton. Hi All, Returning for his annual engagement with us is the master guitarist and educator John Stowell from Portland, Or. John tours all over the globe concertizing, lecturing and teaching and keeps a regular presence in our area and NYC. He has recently recorded two new CDs under his own name and a duo CD with saxophonist Dave Liebman. http://www.johnstowell.com Also, I'd like to alert you to two other events coming up next week. First, The AMHERST JAZZ ORCHESTRA with vocalist Ethel Lee presents their 21st annual BIG BAND CHRISTMAS, Monday December 18th at Union Station Grand Ballroom from 7:30 - 10:00 pm. Then on Thursday December 21st, pianist Doug Abrams will be presenting a concert with his quartet that includes Felipe Salles, Fumi Tomita and Claire Arenius at the Anchor House (right across the street from the bowling alley) from 7-9Pm.
