Bear Witness
To end systematic racism and correct the injustice it’s caused, we first need to stop and listen. Tune into the YouTube Originals channel at 3pm PT today to bear witness and take action as creators, activists, educators and celebrities come together for a conversation about race in America.
Hosted by Common and Keke Palmer, “Bear Witness, Take Action” will include conversations on the history of racial violence in America, what’s different – and what’s not – about the global protests that have unfolded over the past few weeks, and how to reimagine a better future for America. Panelists include Roxane Gay, Patrisse Cullors, Rashad Robinson, Alicia Garza, Ambers Closet, Jouelzy, and Prince Ea, with musical performances by John Legend, Brittany Howard and Trey Songz, and special appearances by Carmelo Anthony, Sterling K. Brown, Bryan Stevenson, and many more. Donations raised during this event will support the Equal Justice Initiative.
Come together to listen, learn, organize, and demand that Black Lives Matter.

Hi All, It's been over a year since we last featured the great jazz bassoonist Michael Rabinowitz as our guest soloist. You will not only dig his unique sound but his approach to improvisation as well;  it's fresh, fluid, explosive and full of surprises and, always swinging. TC ECKSTEIN CAFE TV NEXT SPOTLIGHT CELEBRITY: Ruth Carter is a Hollywood costume designer who grew up in Springfield. Her career spans a long list of major motion pictures, and she is best known for her work on Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" and Steven Spielberg's "Amistad," receiving Academy Award nominations for both films. Carter's most recent work can be seen in "Selma," a film about the trio of marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965. "I first started as an intern in the costume shop at StageWest and did everything from crafts to sewing and working backstage," said Carter, about her time at Springfield's best-known playhouse now called City Stage. While she learned to sew on her mother's old sewing machine, that wasn't the thing that propelled her into costume design.
