With Thanksgiving just a week away, our thoughts turn to family and friends as we count our blessings. Today, I hope you'll take a moment to support a loved one who is taking steps to improve the state of their heart health or a friend who inspires you after being impacted by heart disease. Let those closest to your heart know how much you care by posting a personal message and a photo to Facebook or on Instagram with the hashtag #StateOfTheHeart. It may seem small, but your heartfelt pictures and messages with your loved ones will encourage them on their journey to heart health – or thank them for helping you along yours. I know these messages will help improve our collective state of the heart — and create a ripple effect of positive change!

Northampton Jazz Workshop features trombonist Steve Davis Tuesday, November 21st, 7:30 to 8:30PM followed by an open jazz jam until 10:30 PM at the The City Sports Grille at Spare Time Northampton, 525 Pleasant St., Northampton. Hi All, It's been far too long since we featured the great trombonist, composer and educator Steve Davis. We are really looking forward to making music with him again and expect the usual great turnout of young musicians from Hartford that he always seems to attract. Here's a a quote by a legendary saxophonist that perfectly sums up the way I feel about Steve. “Steve Davis plays everything well! I have had the pleasure of working with him in the Dizzy Gillespie All-star Band for quite some time and his solos never cease to amaze me. But…..not only is Steve a master musician, he is a true gentleman and a pleasure to be around.” — James Moody (2007) Check out more about Steve at his website and hope to see you them. http://stevedavismusic.com Up...
